What's different about a diesel
Diesel engines run harder and rely on clean oil and fuel more than petrol engines do. Servicing a diesel focuses on the right oil grade, fuel and water-separator filters, and the emissions system, including the DPF on modern diesels. Get those right on schedule and a diesel will run for a long time.
DPF and short trips
Modern diesels have a DPF that traps soot and periodically burns it off. Lots of short, low-speed trips can stop that happening properly and lead to blockages, which are expensive. If your diesel does mostly short runs, tell us, we can advise and check the system as part of a service.
